As of October 1, 2007, I am a Visiting Postdoctoral Research Associate in the High Energy Physics Group of the Department of Physics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at the Institut für Theoretische Teilchenphysik of the Universität Karlsruhe.
 

My research is devoted to Physics beyond the standard model, in particular Grand Unified Theories.

• We showed that consistent SUSY SU(5) models with minimal particle content, where SU(5) relations among Yukawa couplings hold, are not excluded by the proton decay limit.
   
• GUTs in higher dimensions solve the doublet-triplet splitting problem and avoid proton decay via dimension-five operators. We studied the phenomenological consequences of a 6D SO(10) Orbifold GUT model.
   
• We investigated Minimal Trinification as a candidate for non-supersymmetric (or split-SUSY) unification.
   
• Recently, we proposed a perturbative SUSY SO(10) model with only four Higgs fields; in particular, we discuss the case with the symmetric rank-two tensor, S(54), instead of the antisymmetric representation.
   
• Other projects: Effects of higher-dimensional operators in SO(10), how can we understand sterile neutrinos with global symmetries, generic problem of dimension-five operators in supersymmetric theories, possibility to discover the Higgs at the Tevatron in extended supersymmetric models.
