Foreign Equivalency

Most Universities, Government Agencies and Employers that are not in the same country as the University rely on the evaluation of recognized evaluation agencies to issue a document that states if the college is considered equivalent to a recognized or accredited college in that country.
Please read
http://www.adsec.nafsa.org/criteriafc.asp

As a rule, in the US, an evaluation agency that is a member of one of more of the organizations that follow is generally recognized by employers or other colleges.  However, some employers and colleges use other criteria and a prospective student should always check with his or her employer or college to insure that he or she will meet their specific standards.

AACRAO (The American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers),
NAFSA (The Association of International Educators),

AICE (The Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc),

NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services).

The equivalency of St. Regis University degrees to US RA degrees has been established and attested by several recognized agencies.

Since every student's needs are different our advisors will help each student get an evaluation from a recognized evaluation agency and will provide more information directly to the student.

Most militaries require that foreign attained degrees be evaluated* and apostilled to be considered US equivalent. The SRU degree is granted by a foreign based degree granting institution that is Nationally accredited by the Higher Education Commission of Liberia. The "accreditation" of the degree is considered when transferring credits from one educational institution to another.  However , "evaluation" of the degree falls in the realm of the Geneva Hague Convention which specifies which countries are able to be apostilled and evaluated for US equivalency. SRU provides the apostille service and will assist with finding the most appropriate evaluation agency to fit your needs. It is highly recommended that alumni with these specific needs give consideration to commitment of the investment in this process to ensure acceptance.

*BEFORE YOU SUBMIT YOUR DEGREE FOR AN EVALUATION, contact Ms. Greene at

evaluation@saintregis.edu.lr providing her with your full name, type of degree (s) and dates of graduation and instructions to check your degree for "typical requirements for an evaluation for attestation to equivalency to US RA degree".

Ms. Greene will pull your file, recheck your transcript and advise you if any additions are needed to meet typical requirements, and describe how to overcome potential challenges.

Ms. Greene will email her preliminary findings to you at no charge.

If you feel you need assistance with your applications there are several  agencies that will contact a potential employer on your behalf and inquire as to acceptance of any degree. We recommend liz@thecareerpeople.com
