In 1976 Hamilton University was founded as a small regional educational organization. For the next fifteen years the school remained relatively small while building a solid academic record. During this era the school specialized in business management education as well as education in the health sciences and religious studies.

By the early 1990’s a decision was made to dramatically expand the scope of the institute both as to curricula and geographic area of service.
