On Being a Scientist: Responsible Conduct in Research. 2nd edition, 1995. Available in a printed (Science Library quarto Q180.A1 O5 1995.) or online edition. A highly cited book on ethics in chemistry, published by National Academy Press.

Nobel Prize in Chemistry, the foundation's website in Sweden, where you can search for a specific Nobel Laureate, a specific year's awards, or a specific subject award (chemistry, physics, physiology or medicine, literature, peace, or economics). Chem Sources U.S.A. Science Reference TP12 .C44. Most current two editions. If you'd like to know whether the chemical you need has been synthesized commercially, check this resource. Arrangement is by common chemical name and by name of chemical company.

PubMed a searchable database of citations and abstracts, in all fields of medicine and biomedicine--including biochemistry. Coverage is from mid-1960's onward.

American Chemical Society (ACS) Journals. Tables of Contents for all ACS primary journals; full-text of 11. Coverage from 1996 onward. (SciFinder Scholar links to the full-text of the eleven locally subscribed ACS journals.)

JSTOR,WC a collection of general science, and other journals, from the beginning, but not the most recent few years. HINT: Read the Search Tips before you use JSTOR's search engine.

PubMed Central, a digital archive of life sciences journal literature, which is managed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information. Includes section on chemical biology.

Science DirectWC, electronic journal articles from more than 1,000 journals in the physical, life, social, and behavioral sciences, published by Elsevier and affiliated publishers. Coverage is from 1995 onward. (SciFinder Scholar links to many of the Science Direct titles.)
