INSPEC contains citations, with abstracts, to the worldwide literature in physics, electronics and electrical engineering, computers and control, and information technology.

Electronic Full-Text Sources

JSTOR, a collection of general science, and other journals, from the beginning, but not the most recent few years. HINT: Read the Search Tips before you use JSTOR's search engine.

PubMed Central, a digital archive of science journal literature..

Science Direct, electronic journal articles from more than 1,000 journals in the physical, life, social, and behavioral sciences, published by Elsevier and affiliated publishers. Coverage is from 1995 onward.

  • To enter this service initially, select "Group-wide Login."
  • If you wish, you may create your own Account and set up a Personal Login.
  • Help: Online User Manual is available from almost any Science Direct screen.
  • Different ways to use the database:

    Browse the Alphabetical or Subject arrangements of individual journal titles for articles of interest.
    Search by keywords, authors, etc. in the

    "Subscribed Journals Database," which contains only records that link to recent full-text articles published by Elsevier or an affiliate publisher... OR in the "Abstracts and Indexes Database," which contains citations and abstracts to articles by a wide variety of publishers. (As a result, only some of the citations lead to full-text articles.) 

Once on the page, click on group-wide log in button. Select the Search tab to do a search. Remember to change the date to "All years." The Journals tab allows you to browse the journals by title or subject..

The European Physics Society provides a list of full-text journals.

The NASA Astrophysics Data System (ADS) covers some physics and geophysics articles along with its primary coverage of astrophysics and solar physics.
