Directions to the University of Illinois
from the Chicago area
A. From Chicago area (2.75 hours):
- You want to take I-57 south. This is accessed from downtown
via I-94 south, or from the suburbs via I-294 south to I-80 west.
- I-57 south to I-74 east. This is the majority of the trip.
- I-74 east to Champaign, exit Lincoln Ave south.
- Lincoln Ave south to Green St. (about 2 miles).
- Right on Green (west), one and a half blocks to the Loomis
Lab parking lot on the right.
- Pull into parking lot B21, park in one of four spaces with
a yellow sign. Barbara Leisner in 203 Loomis will give you a
parking pass.
B. From Chicago suburbs (2.75 hours):
Either:
a.) follow the directions from Chicago area above, or
b.) Take I-355 or Illinois-59 south to I-55 south.
- I-55 south to Illinois-47 south, exit 220 (Dwight)
- Illinois-47 south to I-74 east. This is a long stretch through
rural Illinois, the road passes through a few small towns and
makes a few jogs.
- I-74 east to Champaign, exit Lincoln Ave south.
- Lincoln Ave south to Green St. (about 2 miles).
- Right on Green (west), one and a half blocks to the Loomis
Lab parking lot on the right.
- Pull into parking lot B21, park in one of four spaces with

parking pass.
